Commercial Banking Flood Operations (CBFO) is currently seeking Business Support Consultants to join the CBFO Team. These roles require knowledge and experience with operational risk, process improvement, training, procedures, data, reporting and technology. These newly created roles are responsible for various support activities including system release reporting, UAT testing & coordination, reviewing processes and procedures for consistency, working with other support services teams to coordinate training, onboard new users and provide a positive customer experience related to all aspects of CBFO.
These consultants will focus on developing consistent and effective responses to ongoing/newly identified critical matters impacting the CBFO including regulatory exams and internal testing or audits. These consultants will act as a hub between the CBFO processing and quality control teams, control, compliance, legal, line of businesses, project management and support services teams ensuring consistent and timely deliverables for the execution of responses/corrective actions and BAU activities.
The successful candidate(s) must be pro-active, organized, and is responsible for recognizing and understanding problems, escalating as necessary and bringing issues to resolution to meet timelines. This position will interact with major stakeholders on a regular basis to understand risks and impacts to the organization.
Successful candidates will play a supporting role in:
Data, Reporting & Technology
- Interact with internal and external audit teams and internal risk/compliance/legal/control teams
- Support activities related to CBFO reporting coordination, system release reporting, UAT Testing and post system release.
- Supporting timely and accurate resolution of Issues including ensuring corrective actions are substantive and leverage technology where possible
- Ensuring business processes and procedures align to CBFO documented suite of controls
- Aid in managing regulatory issues reporting processes tied to potential FDPA policy violations
- Support performance analysis of business functions and generate routine business performance program management and reporting to support regulatory commitments
- Leverage industry experience, documented procedures and judgment to evaluate regulatory adherence; document findings, analyze trends and identify areas of weakness or opportunity; coordinate associated activities to remediate concerns
- Proactively monitor key performance indicators and escalate trends
- Process, Procedures and Training
- Support the team through identification, validation, and calibration of procedures and proactive identification of issues
- Ensure timely documentation of procedures, policy updates, and program documentation
- Perform analysis of business functions and generate routine business performance program management and reporting to support regulatory commitments
- Support efforts to operationalize and sustain concepts and requirements of the regulatory deliverables
- Determine root cause of process delays and file escalations to identify process improvement opportunities and work with appropriate teams to implement where needed
Consults and provides guidance on development, implementation, and monitoring of significant matters regarding strategic approaches, effectiveness of support function, business performance improvement opportunities, and helping to manage risks for applicable business functions. Utilizes thorough knowledge of the business unit's functional area or Lines of Business (LOB’s) to support strategic initiatives for the business.
Functions supported may include: All internal and external CBFO audit and testing activity, Regulatory Issue Reporting, policy/procedure administration and adherence, legal and regulatory adherence, SLA negotiation/development, pipeline management, process improvement, quality management, communications. May present to management on business performance and recommend strategies to implement changes and improvements. May consult on process execution matters for risk policies/programs, business process risk/control assessment at process level. May conduct, execute, or manage: risk assessments, ad hoc reviews, quality activities, issue intake process, remediation process, and exam management.
- The preferred locations for this position will be Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC and Minneapolis, MN but will be open to locations across the Wells Fargo footprint.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- The successful candidate must be available to work Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm. Hours may change due to business needs.
- Telecommute is NOT an option for this role. This position is currently working remotely but will be expected to return to the location at a future point in time when Wells Fargo returns to the standard operating model.

Required Qualifications
- 6+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services demonstrated through work or military experience
