About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on leader in Business Intelligence infrastructure to take ownership of our IBM Cognos environment and help scale enterprise reporting capabilities.

As the Manager of Cognos Server Administration, you’ll lead a technical team responsible for platform performance, governance, and reliability—while partnering closely with Data, IT, and business teams to deliver high-impact analytics solutions.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and mentor a team managing IBM Cognos environments (upgrades, patching, configuration, performance)
  • Own platform performance, uptime, and scalability through proactive monitoring and optimization
  • Partner with Data Engineering, IT, and Analytics teams to ensure efficient data pipelines and reporting delivery
  • Oversee deployment and governance of reports, dashboards, and data models across environments
  • Manage security and access controls (user provisioning, roles, credentials)
  • Drive improvements in DevOps, automation, and BI deployment pipelines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues, performance bottlenecks, and user requests
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and manage support tickets
  • Ensure proper documentation, runbooks, and operational standards are in place
  • Act as a key stakeholder in enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives
What You Bring
  • 4+ years of experience with IBM Cognos administration (11.x or 12.x)
  • 2+ years leading or managing technical or BI teams
  • Strong experience with performance tuning, server configuration, and environment management
  • Proficiency in SQL and data platforms (Snowflake, ETL tools like Rivery or similar)
  • Experience with report distribution and scalable BI environments
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices in BI/data ecosystems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Nice to Have
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated industries
  • Knowledge of data warehousing (star/snowflake schemas)
  • Experience with data governance and metadata management
  • Background in system migrations or BI tool implementations
