Co-Man Management Associate (or Manager)

Role Description

*This is a hybrid position that is required to work 3 days per week in the centrally-located Austin office at 5912 Balcones Dr., which would require applicants to live in the Austin metropolitan area.

This position will be the relationship manager for our co-manufacturer partners and will work with the Supply Chain Planner to place POs for finished goods according to the forecast and hold co-mans accountable for production schedule deadlines, quality and testing requirements, and OTIF shipping. The role also involves maintaining clear communication between all stakeholders and troubleshooting and resolving supply chain issues.


This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Place POs for finished goods and track co-man production schedules and timing of completion
  • Track and monitor the timing of raw materials to trouble-shoot issues that could impact production schedules
  • Meeting with multiple co-mans weekly to hold co-mans accountable for PO deadlines and help co-mans work through production or other issues to ensure on time completion of POs
  • Identifying bottlenecks and possible issues in a timely manner
  • Streamlining workflows and PO placement to maximize co-man ops through a thorough understanding of co-man production operations and lead times
  • Arranging for shipping of finished goods to the company distribution warehouse
  • Sourcing new co-mans and freight carriers and negotiating contracts
  • Negotiating pricing and monitoring price fluctuations in production fees and freight to reduce and optimize costs
  • Leading monthly vendor performance reviews
  • Tracking actual lead times for co-mans to assist in lead time reduction and/or revisions to forecast model assumptions
  • Monitoring compliance with contract terms


Qualifications

  • At least 3 years proficiency and expertise in co-man management and sourcing
  • Industry expertise with the manufacturing operations of food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and/or supplements (or another related industry)
  • Expertise and proficiency in Excel and NetSuite (or an equivalent ERP system)
  • Ability to work autonomously and stay connected and productive on remote days
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a highly-related field


**Title and compensation of Associate vs. Manager will be consistent with candidate's level of experience as this position can scale based on experience level.
