Location: Dayton, OH 45404
Experience: 2–4 years of experience operating CNC Tube/Pipe bending equipment
As a CNC Tube Bender, you are responsible for the structural skeleton of our most complex industrial systems.
PrideStaff, a leading national workforce solutions firm, has partnered with a premier supplier located in Dayton
who needs someone who doesn’t just "bend pipe"—you calculate the physics of metal displacement. Whether youare working with thin-wall aluminum or heavy-gauge stainless steel, your ability to program and execute multi-axis
bends is what allow our custom industrial ducting to navigate the tightest architectural spaces.
Key Responsibilities:- Machine Programming & Setup: Set up and program CNC tube benders (e.g., Pines, Eaton Leonard, orBLM) using 3D coordinates (X, Y, Z) or LRA (Length, Rotation, Angle) data.
- Tooling Selection: Select and install the correct mandrels, pressure dies, and wiper dies to preventwrinkling or wall-thinning in high-precision bends.
- First-Article Inspection: Use specialized measurement tools or check-jigs to ensure bends meet tighttolerances before proceeding with a production run.
- Material Management: Work with a wide range of materials—including galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum—adjusting machine parameters to account for different hardness levels.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and correct common bending issues such as "flattening," "springback," or"mandrel humps."
- Collaboration: Work closely with the welding and assembly teams to ensure structural frames alignperfectly with the laser-cut duct components.
Why This Role is For You:- Technical Precision: You’ll operate advanced CNC rotary draw and roll benders, mastering the balance ofpressure and position.
- Complex Geometry: Forget simple 90-degree elbows; you will be creating complex, multi-plane structuralframes and custom industrial transitions.
- Craftsmanship Meets Tech: You’ll be the master of "Springback" and "Elongation," using your knowledgeof metallurgy to ensure every part fits the assembly jig perfectly.
What You’ll Need to Succeed- Math Fluency: A strong understanding of geometry and the ability to read complex 3D blueprints.
- Detail Oriented: A "quality-first" approach, ensuring every structural support is identical to the last.
