We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer/Operator for our manufacturing client in Irvington, NJ. This role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to detailed specifications. This person will interpret blueprints, write or edit G-code/CAM programs, calibrate tools, and perform quality inspections using measuring tools like micrometers, ensuring compliance with safety and design specifications.
Monday-Friday, start time 6am
Salary starting at $45/hour, commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that machines and surrounding area obey Safety Standards, including usage of proper PPE.
- Write and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software or G-code to create precise tool paths, speeds, and feed rates.
- Perform machine setup, including loading tools, setting tool offsets, and fixture alignment.
- Use precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators) to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience programming and operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient with measuring instruments, reading blueprints and interpreting drawings.
- Proficient in Zero Homing and tool offset usage.
- Proficient with basic math skills
- Experience with CAM software and G-code.
- Bilingual a plus
