Job Title: CNC Operator - WEEKLY PAY - START ASAP

Job Description

This role focuses on setting up, programming, and operating multiple CNC machines to produce intricate granite mausoleum and columbarium building components, while also assisting with the assembly of finished structures. You will work with precision, follow detailed drawings and blueprints, and contribute to continuous improvement in a safety-focused production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and program multiple CNC machines to accurately produce a wide range of granite mausoleum and columbarium components.
  • Load and unload raw materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to meet production specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor machines during operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal production and quality.
  • Assist with the assembly of mausoleum and columbarium buildings, using carpentry and fabrication skills where applicable.
  • Perform basic pre-shift inspections, routine maintenance, and general upkeep of machines and work area.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet required quality, dimensions, and specifications.
  • Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to guide machining and assembly tasks.
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities in processes, tooling, and workflow.
  • Follow all company safety guidelines, procedures, and best practices while working to meet project deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for working with machines, tools, and production equipment.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude to support accurate measurements, programming, and machining operations.
  • Ability to learn CNC programming, including setup and operation of mills and lathes.
  • Ability to gain knowledge and skill in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Attention to detail to ensure high-quality finished products and precise assembly.
  • Basic experience or comfort with machine operating, machining, and fabrication tasks.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with 4th axis milling or CNC lathe programming is a plus.
  • Experience in carpentry or similar assembly work is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with production environments involving CNC mills, CNC lathes, and other machining equipment.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn different machine tooling types, speeds, and feeds.
  • Experience with blueprint reading and fabrication processes is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience in assembly work, particularly with structural or detailed components, is helpful.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production and fabrication environment where CNC mills, CNC lathes, and other machining and assembly equipment are used to create and assemble granite mausoleum and columbarium buildings. Work typically involves standing for extended periods, handling raw materials, and operating machinery in a shop setting. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with routine pre-shift inspections and equipment upkeep. Team members collaborate closely on machining, fabrication, and assembly tasks, using drawings and blueprints to guide their work. Standard work hours follow a production schedule, with an expectation to meet project deadlines while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and fabrication facility is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
