About the Role

We are seeking a CNC Maintenance Tech Lead to serve as the technical expert and frontline leader for our CNC maintenance team.


In this role, you will lead the maintenance and repair of CNC machinery and production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and safety. You’ll play a key role in developing technicians, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a high-performance manufacturing environment.


Schedule

  • Monday – Thursday
  • 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Occasional overtime as needed to support production


What You’ll Do

Lead the Team & Set the Standard

  • Lead, train, and support maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and repair
  • Serve as the primary technical expert for CNC machines and control systems
  • Provide hands-on support for complex mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related issues
  • Develop technical capabilities across the maintenance team


Keep Equipment Running at Peak Performance

  • Diagnose and repair CNC equipment and multi-axis machines
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, PLCs, servo drives, and controls (Fanuc, Haas, Makino, etc.)
  • Perform mechanical repairs involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision components
  • Coordinate and execute emergency repairs to minimize downtime


Drive Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Develop and oversee preventive maintenance (PM) programs
  • Ensure PM tasks are completed on time and properly documented
  • Identify opportunities for predictive maintenance and reliability improvements
  • Maintain accurate equipment history and maintenance records


Support Operations & Growth

  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet manufacturing goals
  • Prioritize maintenance work based on production needs and equipment criticality
  • Assist with installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment
  • Coordinate with vendors and external service providers


Safety & Accountability

  • Enforce all safety policies, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase reliability
  • Analyze recurring issues and lead root cause corrective actions
  • Support lean manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives


What We’re Looking For


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
  • 5+ years of CNC maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, controls, and basic programming
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals


Preferred

  • 1–2 years of leadership or lead technician experience
