Job Title: CNC & Manual Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Manual & CNC Machinist to join our team in Rancocas, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of hands-on experience in a job-shop environment, capable of setting up and machining parts from blueprint to finished product using both manual and CNC equipment. Experience with Fanuc controls, G-code/M-code programming, and machining tight tolerances is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and machine parts from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Program, edit, and transfer CNC programs using Fanuc controls (G-code/M-code).
  • Cut and prepare soft jaws for custom work holding setups.
  • Identify appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds based on material.
  • Machine components to exact specifications, maintaining tolerances.
  • Inspect and verify part dimensions using basic measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Perform preventive maintenance and follow company safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve machining or setup challenges.
  • Perform secondary operations on manual machines.

Essential Skills

  • 5–10 years of machining experience in a job-shop environment.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Skilled in setting up and machining parts from start to finish independently.
  • Proficient with Fanuc controls, including the ability to write programs using G-codes/M-codes.
  • Experience cutting soft jaws and creating custom work-holding setups.
  • Ability to select appropriate tools and equipment for each job.
  • Solid understanding of speeds and feeds for various materials.
  • Ability to produce parts within +/- .002 tolerance when needed.
  • Proficient in using basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to verify dimensions.
  • Ability to operate a manual lathe and/or mill.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and be physically active for extended periods.
  • Lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Work in confined spaces, noisy environments (with PPE), and around manufacturing equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read prints and inspect parts; hearing ability to follow instructions in manufacturing settings.
  • Must be able to work overtime when required.
  • Experience with overhead and jib cranes.
  • Familiar with forklifts, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.

Work Environment

The role is based in a shop/manufacturing environment, operating during the 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility to start earlier or run later based on needs. Tasks require manual dexterity and the lifting of 30-50 pounds regularly.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $66560.00/yr.
