Job Description

The CNC Line Worker operates in a high-volume production manufacturing environment, overseeing the production of plastic parts and supporting extrusion and fabrication operations. This role focuses on running and monitoring machinery, maintaining accurate production records, performing regular quality checks, and ensuring parts are organized, stacked, and palletized correctly. The position requires frequent measuring, lifting, and movement throughout the facility while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor CNC and related production machinery in a plastic extrusion facility to ensure consistent and efficient output of parts.
  • Oversee the production of plastic parts, watching machinery closely and responding promptly to any issues or irregularities.
  • Legibly write and track order information, maintaining accurate production records and documentation throughout the shift.
  • Pull part tickets as needed for current and completed runs, ensuring correct parts and orders are processed.
  • Organize, stack, and palletize parts in an orderly and safe manner to support smooth material flow and shipping preparation.
  • Use rulers, tape measures, and other measuring tools to verify part dimensions and ensure products meet specifications.
  • Perform hourly or as-needed quality checks on parts, inspecting for defects and verifying compliance with quality standards.
  • Load hoppers and move materials as required, including walking up and down a short set of stairs to access equipment.
  • Lift and move materials and finished products weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per shift.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized by performing general cleaning and housekeeping tasks on and around the production line.
  • Assist with line setup, changeovers, and basic machine adjustments to support efficient production runs.
  • Use hand and power tools as needed for assembly, line production, and minor adjustments or support tasks.
  • Work independently or as part of a team while staying on task and maintaining consistent production flow.
  • Support extrusion, extrusion operation, and fabrication operation as assigned based on production needs.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures, including proper use of required personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of manufacturing experience in a production or general production environment.
  • Proven ability to read and use a tape measure accurately in a production setting.
  • Ability to pass a math, ruler, and measuring test with a score of 90% or higher.
  • Comfort lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per shift.
  • Experience performing quality checks and quality control in a production or assembly line environment.
  • Ability to work either independently or as part of a team while staying focused and on task.
  • Hands-on experience with general labor, production line work, assembly, and packaging.
  • Capability to perform inspection and basic line setup tasks on manufacturing equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shifts, including first, second, or third shift as needed.
  • Ability to walk stairs to load hoppers and move throughout the facility for the duration of the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with plastic extrusion or injection molding is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools is helpful.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools used in assembly, line production, and basic machine support.
  • Experience in warehouse packing, line assembly, and line production is an advantage.
  • Experience with cleaning, inspection, and line setup in a production setting.
  • Exposure to extrusion, extrusion operation, and fabrication operations is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is based in a plastic extrusion facility that also supports injection molding operations. The plant floor is older but maintained to a very clean standard, and the facility has recently been expanded with three new extrusion lines and a larger warehouse and parts staging area. Work takes place in a production manufacturing setting with active machinery, extrusion lines, and fabrication operations. Shifts are structured as follows: first shift from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., second shift from 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., and third shift from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. Candidates may be placed in extrusion, extrusion operation, or fabrication operation depending on skills and business needs. The role requires standing, walking, climbing a short set of stairs to load hoppers, and lifting up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Use of rulers, tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices is routine, and steel-toe footwear is required as part of the safety-focused dress code.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterville, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
