Role: CNC Fabrication Engineer
Location: Peoria, IL (Onsite)
Duration: Fulltime Hire – Permanent
Job Description
Overview of Position / Role Summary:
• Demonstrates leadership in communicating, developing, and executing manufacturing schedules.
• Supports daily activities involving process development, validation, and change management.
• Utilizes engineering expertise to solve problems, execute objectives, and meet project timelines.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Support product design for automated welding work cells and components.
• Perform various CNC processes required for build activities.
• Program CNC machines, including Haas, Mazak, and other platforms.
• Read, develop, and interpret mechanical diagrams for complex fixtures and system drawings.
• Collaborate with the automation team on automated system qualification processes.
• Support development of hardware for automation solutions (e.g., end‑of‑arm tooling, fixtures).
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) for product builds.
• Train technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipment.
• Ensure proper use of power tools and measuring equipment.
• Travel up to 20% for system integration activities at client locations.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• CNC Machinist certification, B.S. in Engineering, Technical Practice, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering, quality, or production/manufacturing operations in automotive or related industries.
• Proficiency in CNC G‑Code, NC Code, and Mastercam.
Desired Characteristics:
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to program 5‑axis and 6‑axis DMG, Mazak, and Haas machining centres.
• Effective team collaboration skills.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
• Proficiency in CAD and SolidWorks.
Qualification:
• CNC Machinist certification, B.S. in Engineering, Technical Practice, or equivalent.
