CMT Technician (Construction Materials Testing)

We are seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented CMT Technician to perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials on active job sites. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, working outdoors, and contributing to the success of construction projects.

• Perform field testing of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates
• Conduct tests such as compaction, concrete slump, air content, cylinder sampling, and density testing
• Observe construction activities to verify compliance with project specifications and industry standards
• Collect samples and transport them to the laboratory for further testing
• Accurately document test results, field observations, and daily reports
• Communicate findings with project managers, engineers, and contractors
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper calibration
• Follow safety procedures and company quality control standards at all times

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow testing procedures
• Basic math and documentation skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical job duties
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Prior experience in construction materials testing or related construction field
• Certifications such as ACI, NICET, or state DOT certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Familiarity with soils, concrete, and asphalt testing procedures
• Experience working on commercial, roadway, or infrastructure projects

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MILWAUKEE, WI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
