CMM Inspector

PPS is seeking an experienced and thorough CMM Inspector for our fabrication facility in Tempe.

They will be tasked with operating and maintaining coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), as well as inspecting and ensuring the precision and accuracy of parts or products according to engineering drawings, specifications, or design standards.

Responsibilities:

• Setting up and operating the coordinate measuring machines to measure parts and components accurately. This can include both manual and automated CMM systems.
• Inspecting parts to ensure they meet required specifications, measuring attributes like dimensions, angles, surface roughness, and positioning of holes or features.
• Reviewing measurement data to identify any discrepancies or defects to determine whether the part or component is within the allowable tolerances.
• Recording inspection results, documenting any deviations, and providing reports to engineers or managers.
• Ensuring that the CMM is properly calibrated and maintained for optimal performance, including regular checks, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Working to maintain high standards of quality assurance, ensuring that products meet industry standards and customer requirements

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Proficiency in CMM software, including Mitutoyo PC-DMIS
• Attention to detail and precision
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and team coordination
• Knowledge of precision measurement instruments
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs without assistance up to 75 lbs with assistance, stand, kneel, walk, twist, crouch, stoop, bend, push, pull, and reach
