Beyond Blindness is a one -stop support resource for these children , and their families, and provides services in clients’ homes, at its location in Santa Ana, and in schools throughout Orange County. Position Summary The Clinical Supervisor provides direct counseling services through individual counseling, peer group sessions, and play therapy. This position will also collaborate with the Classroom Manager to support counseling and therapeutic needs for children in Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms, integrating play therapy into daily programming. The Clinical Supervisor will coordinate with university programs to screen, hire, train, and supervise counseling interns and trainees. This position ensures that all clinical supervision, training, and counseling activities comply with the requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and applicable program standards. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct clinical care to children, adolescents, and families, including individual counseling, group therapy, and play therapy. • Collaborate with the Classroom Manager to integrate therapeutic interventions for Early Head Start and Head Start students. • Lead peer support groups for adolescents, focusing on age -appropriate goals and social- emotional development. • Implement and oversee a counseling trainee/intern program that aligns agency needs with academic requirements. • Provide clinical supervision to counseling interns and trainees, including: conducting weekly supervision sessions in compliance with BBS requirements; reviewing and signing weekly supervision logs, case notes, and documentation; monitoring ethical and legal compliance in all client care provided by supervisees; maintaining supervision notes and records. • Assign and monitor trainees’ workloads, set priorities, and prepare schedules to ensure timely completion of responsibilities. • Provide feedback, evaluation, and professional development for trainees and interns. • Report concerns related to client safety, ethical issues, or supervisee performance to the Director of Family Support. • Support the evaluation of program effectiveness, including counseling and play therapy outcomes. Education & Experience • Master’s degree in marriage and family counseling or social work • Current, active, and unrestricted California license as an LMFT or LCSW. • Minimum of two years post -licensure clinical experience (required by BBS to supervise). • Completion of a minimum 6 -hour supervision training course within the past 2 years, as required by BBS. • Experience supervising counseling interns and/or trainees. • Experience working with children with special needs and their families preferred. • Training or experience in child play therapy preferred. • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
