Associate Director / Director, Clinical Scientist | Cardiology (Urgent)
Hartmann Young are partnering with a fast‑growing, privately held biotech advancing a novel therapeutic platform in cardiovascular disease, with a strong focus on cardiomyopathy and heart failure. This is a high‑impact Clinical Scientist role within a lean, agile organisation, offering meaningful ownership across early clinical development. The position is open at Associate Director or Director level, depending on experience.
The role is remote across the U.S., however Dallas / Plano‑based candidates will be of particular interest given the company’s growing presence in Texas.
This is an urgent hire and an opportunity to join a programme at a critical clinical inflection point.
The Role
You will provide scientific leadership across Phase 1 and Phase 2 cardiology clinical trials, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure high‑quality study design, execution, and data interpretation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Scientific leadership across early‑phase cardiovascular clinical studies (Phase 1 / 2)
- Hands‑on involvement in protocol development, study amendments, and clinical strategy
- Authoring and reviewing key clinical documents including protocols, Investigator’s Brochures, CSRs, and regulatory responses
- Close collaboration with Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Biometrics, and external partners
- Supporting medical monitoring, safety review, and ongoing data review activities
- Acting as a scientific point of contact with CROs, investigators, and clinical sites
Expertise We’re Looking For:
- PhD or MD required
- Proven experience as a Clinical Scientist within a biotech or CRO environment
- Strong disease‑area expertise in cardiology, with particular emphasis on:
- Cardiomyopathy
- Heart failure (HFrEF / HFpEF)
- Other relevant cardiovascular indications
- Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trial experience is essential
- Hands‑on experience partnering closely with Clinical Operations and CROs
- Excellent scientific writing skills and strong attention to detail
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, resource‑lean biotech environment
