Plasma Surgical, Inc. is the designer, manufacturer and distributor of surgical products used in over 20 countries. We are looking ahead to expand our technology to improve outcomes in the treatment of endometriosis and ovarian cancer and wound care. Our corporate headquarters is in Roswell, GA and the Clinical Specialist would be assigned a clinical territory.

We are seeking a self-starter who is comfortable within a small but growing organization. The candidate will be supported by an experienced management team, but the expectation is that this person manages their clinical territory independently.

We prefer a candidate with a strong bias for action, a keen sense of urgency and the ability to drive impactful results in a highly matrixed organization. We are looking for a person who will be in our regional hospitals supporting surgeons and staff.

The Clinical Specialist is expected to actively sell Plasma Surgical handpiece utilization in qualified and existing hospitals throughout assigned territory by identifying and working with current and new surgeon champions, nurses, and key operating room staff.

Energy and interpersonal skills combined with product and application knowledge will be used to promote adoption of the Plasma Surgical technology and drive increased usage across all target specialties.

The expectation is the Clinical Specialist will grow business in new and existing accounts with a highly clinical approach, customer engagement and passion for helping patients.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Train to become an expert in our product. Learn the Plasma Surgical product lines features, benefits and proof sources. Learn our product portfolio, understand product service and maintenance requirements, and support accounts as the primary liaison for the Company. Review and understand the Instructions for Use and promote on-label use of our technology.
  • Develop in-depth clinical knowledge of the procedures where the Plasma Surgical technology is applicable. Review and stay apprised of clinical and journal articles relative to Plasma Surgical technology and its applications.
  • Provide clinical and product support for physicians, administrators, and nursing personnel in the use of the Plasma Surgical product lines in the form of product demo’s, VAC meeting support, case support, in-servicing and tissue training events.
  • Contribute positively to the sales team through high level open communication and sharing of best practices.
  • Develop meaningful relationships in all assigned targeted accounts and specialties. Develop and deliver clinical presentations to physicians and hospital decision makers. Track and report on key users and record and develop plans for increasing utilization within assigned accounts.
  • Support procedural adoption and disposable product sales in current accounts and assist other sales or clinical staff in doing the same in new accounts.

POST MARKET

  • Stay informed of new products, trends and applications in your accounts. Provide regular and relevant account intelligence to the senior management and sales team.
  • As needed, attend company run sales training conferences, local and national nursing and physician society meetings and trade shows.
  • Work with hospital marketing departments to assist in the education and promotion of the Plasma Surgical technology on-label.
  • Travel on occasion is expected to support out-of-region activities including congresses and/or surgical procedures in other accounts.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Document procedure coverage through completing case evaluation forms, supporting clinical evaluations and other clinical data collections when they occur in your accounts.
  • Consistently complete reporting requirements including weekly sales activity reports, expense reports, sales pipeline reports, and other tracking requests according to established Company policy and procedures or as directed by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Provenmedical device support experience with strong preference given to surgical, electro-surgical, general surgical, oncology, thoracic and related modalities/specialities where there is both a disposable component or procedure-based selling.
  • Documented track record of professionalism, success, and advancement in the medical device industry.

Other Requirements:

  • Must maintain credentialing requirements as required by client hospitals.
  • Willing to support local accounts daily (M-F). Must be willing and able to travel to cover entire territory, including by commercial air service to attend surgical cases, scheduled business, trade shows, and corporate functions as required. Must be able to travel, up to 40%, inside and outside the assigned territory and attend required company functions (such as conferences, training, labs, etc.).
  • Must understand the importance and significance of working with key surgeons within the defined geography. Ability to garner multiple face-to-face meetings and product demonstrations with both existing and prospective customers on a daily basis to drive the utilization and adoption of the Plasma Surgical products, keeping the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision-making and action.
  • Have a focus on Customer Experience. Keep Nurses and Support staff trained regularly. Support Field Service by communicating product service and repair requirements within the supported territory.
  • Must consistently demonstrate a high level of initiative and proactively educate oneself on important clinical initiatives to engaged targeted physicians in meaningful conversation.
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers, employees, and business contacts, while conveying a positive, service-oriented demeanor.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality guidelines.
  • Must be familiar with the ever-increasing challenges of the healthcare environment. Must have knowledge of general hospital requirements and policies, operating room environment, HIPPA patient confidentiality and other related guidelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, time management and organizational skills.
  • Team player that understands the challenges of a start-up environment and seeks to build a positive and collaborative culture and aggressively avoid destructive behavior.
  • Ability to effectively use MS Office and sales management applications.
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs. (for installing the Plasma Surgical systems).
