CurieDx is a Johns Hopkins–affiliated digital health startup building a “lab in your pocket.” Our platform uses smartphone images, digital biomarkers, and AI to detect infections like strep throat, influenza, and UTI, helping patients and clinicians make faster, evidence-based decisions without swabs, labs, or long clinic visits.

We are moving deep learning models from research into real-world clinical deployment. This role is critical to making that happen reliably, securely, and at scale.

We're a small, fast team where your work recruiting patients for research, data management goes directly into our AI models to and impacts patient care.


Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Research Coordinator to join our dynamic team that is revolutionizing home medical testing with AI-driven disease prediction. This individual will play a pivotal role in organizing, overseeing, and executing cutting edge clinical research. The ideal candidate is outgoing to engage with patients at the bedside during study enrollment, can integrate into a clinical setting (urgent care) during recruitment, possesses excellent organizational skills, and has a passion for driving research that makes a difference. There is occasional travel to conferences to present research findings. We are seeking availability for 30-40 hours per week. This position is ideal for students seeking a gap year and to gain experience before medical or graduate school, in Maryland or preferably in the Baltimore region.


Key Responsibilities:

1.    Coordinate the activities of ongoing research projects to ensure timelines and milestones are met.

2.    Direct patient recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants (in pediatric urgent cares- hours will likely be afternoons/early evenings), ensuring ethical /IRB protocols are upheld, depending on the location and availability of the candidate.

3.    Organization of the research protocol, submission of IRB documents, and communication with each research site to ensure projects move forward.

4.    Assist in the design, development, and implementation of research protocols.

5.    Monitor data collection, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.

6.    Prepare reports, presentations, and manuscripts for internal and external audiences.

7.    Miscellaneous administrative tasks that support the company leadership.

8.    Assist in writing, including grant submission, budgets, proposals, or manuscript preparation.


Qualifications:

·      Bachelor's degree in [Biology, Public Health, or medical fields] or equivalent

·      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with clinical staff and patients, especially pediatric patients

·      Experience as a research assistant or research coordinator (preferred)

·      Detail oriented

·      Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Google Sheets

·      Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

·      Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
