The Clinical Mass Spectrometry Technician performs complex analyses on blood, tissue, and other body fluids to support healthcare providers in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating patients. This role operates within specialized clinical laboratories and involves both highly skilled manual techniques and automated testing using sophisticated instrumentation such as HPLC, LC/MS/MS, and GC/MS. The technician ensures accurate and timely test results, supports assay optimization and instrument performance, and contributes to a high-quality, fast-paced clinical testing environment with clear opportunities for long-term career growth.
Responsibilities
This role is based in a specialized clinical laboratory that utilizes advanced analytical technologies, including HPLC, LC/MS/MS, GC/MS, and other sophisticated instrumentation. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, with a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and collaboration. Multiple full-time positions are available with 10-hour shifts on various schedules, including Sunday night to Thursday morning (10:00 pm–8:30 am), Tuesday to Friday (3:00 pm–1:30 am), and Wednesday to Saturday (8:00 am–6:30 pm). Initial training typically occurs Monday through Friday from 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Team members must be open to second and third shifts and weekend availability to support current and future openings. The laboratory follows strict safety protocols for handling infectious specimens and chemicals, and staff work closely as a team to maintain high standards of patient care and test quality. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
