The supervisor plays a critical role in problem-solving, managing workloads, and upholding the high standards expected within the office.

- Ensures the quality of all applications, claims, pensions, and related documents submitted by the incumbent and the State Veterans Service Officers.
- Must have an in-depth working knowledge of all State and Federal benefits.
- Ensures the highest level of quality control regarding the submission of all applications, claims, and related documents.
- Most applications have time limits, and must work with the constraints of time to update the application and ensure timely submission.
- Coaches, teaches, and supervises the State Veterans Service Officers to correct procedures to ensure compliance with application processes.
- Preparation and follow-up of applications for State and Federal benefits, including VA disability claims, VA pension, VA aid and attendance, VA home loan eligibility, and all related VA programs.
- Investigates and conducts interviews with veterans and their dependents to obtain a comprehensive case history in order that eligibility for aid can be determined.
- Review VA disability and pension claim results and advise the Veteran regarding appeal procedures.
- Attends meetings and other activities of veterans service organizations as assigned, advocating for the efforts of the Wyoming Veterans Commission.
- Performs a variety of public relations duties, including initiating, planning, and overseeing all aspects relating to the public and utilizing all forms of media regarding access to Veterans Service Officers across Wyoming.
- Assists with information and educational requests from Veterans.
PREFERENCES:Preference may be given to the candidate with advanced computer skills working with Microsoft Office and Google products like Docs and Sheets.
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of an extensive understanding of the VA's claims process.
- Understanding of supportive IT Systems (VBMS, Vetrospect )
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelor's Degree (typically in Social Services)
Experience:1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Victim or ClientServices) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Victim Services Program Coordinator
OREducation & ExperienceSubstitution:4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Victim or ClientServices) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Victim Services Program Coordinator
