Homelake Veterans CenterThe Colorado State Veterans Center at Homelake is a State-owned and operated skilled nursing facility and domiciliary dedicated to serving those who have served us. We strive to provide excellent customer service and to respect and honor resident choices regarding bathing, rising, bedtimes, and other personal decisions. While in this position, you are required to work at your assigned work location during your scheduled work times.Please note: Work arrangements are subject to change at any time.
This is a full-time, temporary position estimated to end on 02/01/2027.

Additionally, as a Client Care Aide II you can expect to:
  • ADL care to residents assigned, including but not limited to i.e. Sitter 1:1 with residents, ambulation, ROM, dressing, toileting, bathing, transferring, positioning, lifting, skin care, and/or assisting with feeding. Care of resident belongings, room care: organized and floor areas free of clutter, moisture
  • Will follow proper infection control practices via the use of standard precautions
  • Communicates with others to ensure proper resident care and work completion
  • Maintains resident care and equipment, such as cleaning oxygen concentrators, filling portable oxygen tanks, maintaining/disinfecting tubs and showers, changing lift batteries, etc.
  • Report to the charge nurse as to pertinent care issues: skin condition, falls, family concerns, and behaviors. Complete all documentation necessary for shift in the electronic health record, including but not limited to, intake sheets, bath sheets, WEIGHTS, vital signs, and bowel movement.
  • Will occasionally transport residents; a driver's license is required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Special Qualification:
  • Current & active Certified Nurse Aide license renewal required, and be CPR certified. Vaccinations as required by the State and facility.
Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience:
  • High school diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
  • One year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position

Substitutions:
  • Current, valid certification as a Nurse Aide (CNA) from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies will substitute for the high school diploma or GED
  • Current, valid licensure as a Practical Nurse (LPN) from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies or any state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact will substitute for the experience requirement


Conditions of Employment:
  • FULL BACKGROUND CHECK: This position will havedirect contactwith vulnerable persons (as defined by C.R.S.27-90-111:"Direct contact" means providing face-to-face care, training, supervision, counseling, consultation, or medication assistance to vulnerable persons, regardless of the level of supervision of the department employee. "Direct contact" may include positions in which persons have access to or unsupervised time with clients or patients, including but not limited to maintenance personnel, housekeeping staff, kitchen staff, and security personnel.)
    • CBI & FBI fingerprint check, Colorado Court Database check, Medicare Fraud Database, TRAILS Database check.

    • This position will also providedirect careto vulnerable adults requiring a CAPS check (as defined by C.R.S. 26-3.1-101, position provides services & support care to at-risk/vulnerable adults, including case management, clergy, physical or mental health services, safety or welfare services).

  • This position requires State of Colorado residency at the time of application and residency within the state throughout the duration of employment in this position.
  • Motor Vehicle Check, if the employee will drive a state-owned vehicle, either in an ongoing capacity while performing their normal day-to-day job duties OR on occasion for training/meetings/client visits/etc.
  • Must possess a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver’s License
  • Out-of-State Driver’s License holders must obtain a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver’s License within 30 days of employment start date.

  • Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must:
    1. Disclose that information on the application.

    2. Explain why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify you from the current position.

    3. Provide your employee number from your prior State employment. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination, and failure to provide this information will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.

CDHS Selection Process Explanation

Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a prorated basis to determine qualifications. Be sure your application specifically addresses your qualifications, experience, work products, and accomplishments as they relate to the position and minimum requirements.

Minimum Qualification Screening Process

After minimum qualification screening, the comparative analysis process will involve reviewing and rating all the information you submit. The comparative analysis step may also include your results from standardized testing.
