As a Clerk Typist 2 with Fayette Admissions and Assisted Housing, you will be responsible for keeping daily operations running smoothly and ensuring applicants receive the information and assistance they need. As a Clerk Typist 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Customer Support: Answer calls, relay messages, and provide information to applicants
- Mail Handling: Sort incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail for the department
- Interview Scheduling: Schedule applicant interviews and prepare application folders
- Application Entry: Enter applications for public, state, and Section 8 Housing programs
- Record Checks: Run credit checks and review required housing lists for compliance
- Correspondence Work: Type letters, logs, and various department documents
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Fayette County. If no eligible candidates who live within Fayette County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
