Lake Ridge Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Aide to support our junior kindergarten program for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a Part-time position. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with young children, loves being outdoors in all weather, and is eager to assist in a dynamic, nature-inspired learning environment.
The Classroom Aide will work closely with the lead teacher to support daily activities, ensure safety, and help create meaningful learning experiences rooted in nature.
Key Responsibilities- Assist lead teachers in supervising and engaging children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Support daily routines, including arrival, snack, lunch, rest time, and departure.
- Help set up and clean up learning environments, both indoors and outdoors.
- Join children on nature walks, outdoor play, and exploration—encouraging curiosity and discovery.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed to help children succeed socially and academically.
- Model respectful communication, kindness, and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure children’s safety by following established health and safety guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning and reflection sessions.
Qualifications- Required:
- Experience working with preschool-aged children (formal or informal settings).
- Enthusiasm for outdoor learning and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a warm and patient demeanor.
- Ability to take direction from lead teachers and work collaboratively.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Preferred:
- Coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related fields.
- Avid lover of the outdoors.
- Knowledge of early childhood social-emotional development and positive behavior guidance.
- Interest in environmental education, gardening, and/or outdoor skills.
