Civil Project Manager – Land Development

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager – Land Development to join a growing, well‑established firm in Metro Detroit. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Land Development and is ideally based out of the Rochester Hills office, though the firm has three local offices throughout the Detroit metro area.

Role Overview

This is a highly client‑facing project management position focused on civil land development projects across Southeast Michigan. The Civil Project Manager will oversee projects from early entitlement through construction, working closely with internal design teams and external clients on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships and expectations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead and manage civil land development projects including private, commercial, and K‑12 developments
  • Conduct site visits and support permit applications, zoning reviews, and land use evaluations
  • Coordinate with municipalities and regulatory agencies
  • Oversee and review engineering drawings and design work prepared by the internal team
  • Provide construction phase support, including coordination and issue resolution
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and project deliverables while ensuring quality and compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in Civil Land Development
  • Proven project management experience (3+ years preferred; less considered)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6–12 months

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

  • 10+ years of civil land development experience
  • Experience working on K‑12 projects

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
