DCivil Designer / Civil Project Engineer – Land Development (K‑12 Focus)
We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer / Civil Project Engineer to support civil land development projects, with a primary focus on K‑12 educational facilities throughout Southeast Michigan. Approximately 80% of this role is dedicated to K‑12 projects, with the remaining work supporting private‑sector commercial developments.
This position sits at a true mid‑level—someone senior enough to independently run design efforts and delegate work to junior staff, but not required to manage clients or budgets like a Project Manager.
Role OverviewThis individual will be responsible for producing and coordinating civil design deliverables, including detailed calculations, quantity takeoffs, and construction documents. They will work closely with internal project managers, architects, and independent clients to move projects forward with minimal oversight.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis role does not require a licensed engineer or engineering degree, as long as the candidate has strong, hands‑on Civil 3D design experience. The ideal person is someone project managers can trust to “take a project and run with it” without constant direction.
