Compensation: Up to $284,000 annually

We’re partnering with a major electric utility to hire a Sr. Manager, Civil & Corrosion Engineering to lead a large, technically complex organization responsible for structural integrity and corrosion mitigation across a broad service territory.

This role plays a critical part in grid reliability and long‑term infrastructure resilience, supporting massive system modernization efforts driven by EV adoption, AI‑focused data centers, and increasing electricity demand. It’s a senior leadership role for a hands‑on civil engineer who wants real technical ownership, scale, and influence.

Why this role stands out

  • Senior ownership of civil, structural, and corrosion engineering programs
  • Leadership responsibility for a large, multi‑layered engineering organization
  • Strong influence over how infrastructure problems are solved at scale
  • Opportunity to challenge legacy processes and introduce modern approaches
  • Work that directly impacts public safety and long‑term asset reliability

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading and developing a leadership team of 4–5 direct reports, overseeing ~60 engineers
  • Providing technical oversight across civil, structural, and corrosion engineering disciplines
  • Guiding corrosion mitigation and asset protection programs
  • Challenging the status quo by driving efficiency, modernization, and technical improvements
  • Partnering cross‑functionally to ensure alignment with safety, reliability, and regulatory standards
  • Balancing hands‑on technical problem solving with strategic people leadership
  • Supporting projects across a large service territory, including onsite engagement as needed

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong hands‑on civil engineering background (not purely managerial)
  • Experience in utilities, energy, or large‑scale infrastructure environments
  • Proven people leadership experience managing managers and engineering teams
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and communicate effectively across teams
  • Willingness to travel within the service territory as required

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Advanced degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Structural and/or corrosion engineering experience
  • Deep exposure to corrosion mitigation programs
  • Experience working in regulated utility environments
  • Track record of driving modernization, efficiency, or innovation initiatives

This is an opportunity for a senior civil engineering leader who wants to stay technically credible while leading at scale and shaping critical infrastructure that serves millions.
