Job Description
Cyber Husky is seeking an experienced and business-savvy Chief Technology Officer to guide both our clients’ technology roadmaps and our internal service strategy. This hybrid role acts as the virtual CTO (vCTO) for a portfolio of SMB and mid-market customers while steering Cyber Husky’s own technical direction. You will architect Microsoft-centric solutions, champion security best practices, and mentor our engineering teams to deliver consistent, high-value outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the vCTO for assigned clients—develop multi-year technology and security roadmaps, budgets, and governance frameworks.
- Design and oversee Microsoft solutions across Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender XDR, and Power Platform to meet business goals and compliance (HIPAA, CJIS, NIST, etc.).
- Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and executive briefings; translate technical risks and ROI into clear, actionable guidance.
- Provide executive escalation during major incidents; direct post-incident analysis and continuous improvement.
- Define Cyber Husky’s internal technical roadmap and service catalog; evaluate emerging tech and partnership opportunities.
- Mentor and upskill cloud, M365, and security engineers; embed SOPs and automation across managed services.
- Partner with Sales on proposals, RFP responses, and pre-sales solution architecture.
- Oversee internal security posture, incident response readiness, and vendor relationships.
- Track industry trends and recommend R&D initiatives that enhance service quality and profitability.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with 5+ years in a senior technology leadership, vCIO, or CTO role—ideally within an MSP/MSSP.
- Deep expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem (Azure IaaS/PaaS, Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, Entra ID).
- Proven success creating and executing IT and security roadmaps for external clients.
- Strong background in cybersecurity strategy and familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or HIPAA.
- Excellent business judgement skills—comfortable presenting costs, risk, and ROI to non-technical executives.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Hands-on leadership style with experience mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted
