About the Role
Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as the company’s senior-most operator and core execution partner. This is a true #2 role. You will own how the business runs—translating strategy into execution, building systems that scale, and ensuring consistent delivery across a fast-growing, multi-functional organization. This role spans both internal operations (systems, people, process) and external execution (customer delivery, field performance, service quality). You are responsible for building and leading the operating engine of the business.
Responsibilities
Core Mandate
- Build a scalable, disciplined operating system
- Drive predictable execution across all functions
- Improve efficiency, cost structure, and delivery performance
- Develop leadership bench and organizational clarity
- Enable the company to scale without breaking
Operational Leadership
- Own and scale all operational functions including logistics, field operations, installation, service, and support
- Drive improvements in speed, uptime, quality, and cost efficiency
- Build and enforce standardized workflows, KPIs, and accountability systems
- Establish vendor strategy, procurement discipline, and cost control mechanisms
People & Organizational Development
- Oversee organizational design, hiring strategy, and performance management systems
- Build leadership capability across the organization
- Drive role clarity, accountability, and cultural alignment
- Implement scalable onboarding and talent development frameworks
Execution & Strategic Alignment
- Translate CEO priorities into clear initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Drive cross-functional execution and alignment across Operations, Product, Sales, and Finance
- Establish operating cadence (weekly, monthly, quarterly) with clear metrics and follow-through
- Ensure alignment between operating plans, budgets, and investment decisions
Systems & Infrastructure
- Partner with technology leadership to ensure systems, tools, and data support scale
- Replace manual processes with structured, data-driven workflows
- Build visibility into performance through dashboards and reporting
Success Metrics
- Consistent on-time delivery and execution against customer commitments
- Reduction in cost to serve and improved unit economics
- Increased operational efficiency through process and system improvements
- Strong leadership bench with clear accountability across functions
- Predictable execution driven by disciplined operating cadence and metrics
- Scalable infrastructure that supports rapid growth
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations or general management
- Proven experience operating as a senior leader in high-growth, complex environments
- Demonstrated ability to scale systems, teams, and processes
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and senior leaders
- Strong financial and operational acumen (budgeting, forecasting, cost control)
- Builder mindset—able to fix, create, and scale simultaneously
Preferred Skills
- Experience in logistics-heavy, hardware-enabled, or service-based businesses
- Background in venture-backed or founder-led environments
- Experience integrating systems across operations, product, and customer delivery
- Lean / Six Sigma or process improvement experience is a plus
Pay range and compensation package
$300,000–$350,000 base + performance-based bonus
