Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia-Anesthesiology (Open Rank Professor)

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, is seeking a physician anesthesiologist as the Chief of our Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia program. This is a full-time Open Rank non-tenure track academic faculty and clinician position. Individuals with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified generalists would be considered.

Duties include direct patient care, as well as teaching and supervising nurse 

anesthetists and residents. Opportunities for clinical and basic science research are 

available, and participation is encouraged.

Other Chief Responsibilities Include: 

  • To support the vision, mission, core values, and goals of the institution through teaching, service, patient care, and research.
  • Seeking to serve on committees and boards for state/federal government agencies,

professional societies, and/or within the College of Medicine. 

  • Actively engaging in community service with students/residents.
  • Conducting basic or clinical research, and/or other scholarly activities, that will qualify for appropriate promotion and tenure.
