Chief Financial Officer

Prospera Executive
Vermont, United States

Prospera Executive has been instructed on a CFO search for a profitable, PE-backed, multi-site services business operating in a mission-critical logistics environment.

The business is transitioning from a founder-led operating model to a more institutional, PE-grade finance function. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and act as a true strategic partner, embedding financial discipline, improving operational visibility, and supporting growth and M&A.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, providing financial clarity, commercial insight, and disciplined decision support across pricing, operations, and growth initiatives.
  • Professionalise monthly close, board reporting, and KPI frameworks across a distributed, route-based operating model.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, liquidity management, and cash discipline in a working-capital-intensive environment.
  • Drive visibility on profitability across customers, routes, locations, and service lines.
  • Support bolt-on M&A, including modelling, diligence, and integration planning.
  • Build and scale the finance function while remaining hands-on in a lean environment.
  • Strengthen controls, processes, and reporting across a multi-site, operationally complex business.

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven finance leader within multi-site, route-based, or operationally intensive B2B services businesses.
  • Experience in PE-backed environments with exposure to board and investor stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial and operational finance skillset, including margin analysis, cash flow management, and KPI development.
  • Comfortable operating in hands-on, build environments rather than fully institutionalised platforms.
  • Experience in logistics, distribution, or field-based services environments is beneficial.
