JOB SUMMARY
Directs the Engineering team in the execution of all Mechanical/Electrical related maintenance, repairs and projects to provide the successful operation and safety of all mechanical and electrical systems. Manages the daily operation of all Mechanical/Electrical systems.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; 3 years’ experience electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance, operations management, or related professional area
OR
• 2-year graduate degree in Engineering; 2 years’ experience electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance, operations management, or related professional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Mechanical/Electrical Operations
• Manages the daily operation of all Mechanical/Electrical systems including electrical systems, pools, HVAC, kitchen and refrigeration.
• Manages and executes the Mechanical/Electrical operating budget.
• Supervises all electrical and mechanical projects, associated proposals and construction documentation.
• Develops and maintains a progressive energy management program.
• Handles all energy conservation issues.
• Develops, administers, and tracks electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance programs.
• Supervises improvements and modifications of all mechanical and electrical systems within the confines of the property.
• Performs routine inspections of all kitchens, mechanical and electrical rooms and assign tasks as needed.
• Coordinates system repairs and enhancements with vendors and contractors.
Leading Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Team
• Supervises the daily activities and performance of the Mechanical/Electrical Engineering staff.
• Manages the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering team to be in compliance with OSHA regulations, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and safety precautions.
• Serves as the Manager on Duty for the entire Engineering division.
Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities
• Interviews, selects and trains employees.
• Appraises employee’s productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status.
• Provides for the safety and security of the employees or the property.
• Monitors employee attendance and records absences/tardiness.
• Helps direct supervisors to achieve their own development goals.
• Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
