Cherry Picker Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role focuses on operating a cherry picker and other warehouse equipment in the receiving department to accurately put away and pull products for shipping. You will use RF scanners and warehouse systems to complete order picking, inventory movement, and product placement while working safely at heights and maintaining high accuracy and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a cherry picker and other powered industrial trucks, including forklifts and reach forklifts, to move, put away, and retrieve products.
  • Work in the receiving department to unload, store, and organize incoming products according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Use RF scanners and warehouse systems to scan, track, and update product locations and inventory movements in real time.
  • Pick orders accurately and efficiently for shipping, using cherry pickers, order pickers, and electric pallet jacks as required.
  • Follow written SOPs and work instructions to ensure consistent, safe, and compliant warehouse operations.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when scanning, labeling, and placing products in designated locations.
  • Perform inventory-related tasks such as counting, verifying, and reconciling product quantities as needed.
  • Lift, carry, pull, and push materials weighing 40–70 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally throughout the shift.
  • Spend the majority of the shift walking, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching while picking and moving products.
  • Work at heights of approximately 15–20 feet on racking while operating a cherry picker, following all safety procedures.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and recertification for forklift and other powered industrial equipment.
  • Identify basic issues or obstacles in daily work and use problem-solving skills to complete tasks independently.
  • Collaborate with team members in receiving, picking, and shipping to ensure all daily orders are completed.
  • Work weekday and weekend overtime as required, staying until all assigned orders are finished for the day.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including use of monitoring devices that alert for hazardous movements, to reduce risk of injury.

Essential Skills

  • Experience operating a cherry picker and other powered industrial trucks such as forklifts and reach forklifts, or a strong willingness to obtain and use these skills.
  • Ability to use RF scanners and basic warehouse systems to scan products and update inventory records.
  • General warehouse experience, preferably in a picking or order selection environment.
  • Ability to read and write in English to follow written SOPs, safety instructions, and work orders.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when picking, scanning, and putting away product.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate effective problem-solving abilities during daily tasks.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, pull, and push 40–70 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Comfort working at heights of 15–20 feet while operating a cherry picker on warehouse racking.
  • Willingness to work weekday and weekend overtime as required to complete daily orders.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Forklift certification or the ability and willingness to become forklift certified and be recertified as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nazareth, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
