Aristoi Classical Academy seeks a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher to join our Logic & Rhetoric School faculty. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemistry, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to the principles of classical education.
The Chemistry Teacher will provide rigorous instruction that develops students' understanding of scientific concepts through observation, experimentation, analysis, and critical thinking. In keeping with Aristoi's mission, the teacher will foster intellectual curiosity, encourage the pursuit of truth, and help students cultivate wisdom and virtue alongside academic excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging chemistry instruction aligned with state standards and the classical education model
- Maintain an orderly, welcoming, and joyful classroom environment
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback
- Develop students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and laboratory skills
- Build positive relationships with students and families
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and school initiatives
- Maintain accurate records, grades, and required documentation
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events
- Fulfill additional duties such as carpool, lunch, tutoring, and extracurricular responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university
- Appropriate Texas teaching certification or ability to obtain certification
- Strong chemistry content knowledge
- Commitment to the mission and philosophy of classical education
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Previous teaching experience preferred
