Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Chemical Sales Representative to join our team. This is a unique outside sales opportunity with a growing, 63 year-old, 3rd Generation family-owned, full-line distributor of chemicals and related services.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in business development, territory management, and B2B sales within the chemical industry.
The ideal candidate will possess strong sales, negotiation, and customer service skills, with a focus on expanding our market presence through effective lead generation.
Experience with CRM software, and a solid understanding of industrial sales are highly valued. This position involves managing existing accounts while actively pursuing new clients through cold calling and strategic outreach.
Duties
- Develop and execute strategic plans for territory management to maximize sales opportunities across assigned region.
- Prospect territory for new business, relationships, and future sales opportunities via via lead generation, cold calling, and networking efforts.
- Manage existing accounts through regular communication, ensuring high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
- Meet forecasted sales goals through the selling of portfolio products and services to new and existing accounts.
- Utilize CRM tools weekly to track sales activities, manage customer information, and forecast future sales.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints through investigation and develop solutions.
- Entertain customers on a monthly basis via lunches, dinners, events, concerts, etc.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of proven experience in B2B sales, especially within the chemical or related industries.
- Strong background in business development, and account management.
- Familiarity with CRM software for tracking sales activities.
- Excellent skills in negotiation, communication, and building long-term client relationships.
- Ability to conduct effective cold calling, lead generation, and follow-up strategies.
- Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets through strategic planning and execution.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously across a designated territory.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities and expanding client base.
- Live within a 30 minute drive of the territory, which includes Naperville, the Tri-Cities, Joliet, and Aurora.
- Candidate must be willing to have fun and have an excellent work ethic.
