Main Job Responsibilities

• Delivers an exceptional experience at every cooking class.

• Ensures thatthe class is a success by creating a fun and educational environment for students.

• Sets up and prepares ingredients for classes and ensures classroom is set up for students, then returned to a clean and organized state at completion of class

• Manages Event Assistants during class, providing clear direction and expectations as well as feedback

• Collaborates with the Co-op Chef and store team to ensure a seamless learning environment. Promotes ingredients and seasonal marketing initiativesofPCC Markets.

• Other duties as needed orrequiredto ensure the successful execution of the cooking class

• This position works consistently at a light physical work level and may be asked to work on occasion at a medium or heavy physical work level when supporting stores or other offsite events. Frequently required to sit, walk, reach, and grasp.Required to be onfeetwith a mix of standing and walking throughout shift.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications:

• 1-2 years’ experience as a cooking class instructor
• Two years’ experience in a related culinary fieldrequired, experience might include working as restaurant cook/sous chef/chef, as a private chef, catering, recipe writer/developer, nutritionist, etc.

• Demonstrated ability to multitask and problem solve in the moment, especially under pressure

• Proven ability to convey information to a group in a fun and engaging way

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilemaintaininga positive customer service orientation toward staff and public

• Intermediate level of computer skillsin order tointeract with simple video broadcasting technology

• Available toworkaflexibleschedule that includesevenings and weekends.

• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to PCC locations.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to: Co-op Chef

Supervises or Manages: Supervises Event Assistants during class, responsible for providing feedback to the PCC Experiences team as needed. Not responsible for hiring or conducting performance reviews.

Work occurs inanoffice, a variety of off-site environments and in a grocery store environment which includes surfaces that can be wet and slippery, moderate noise level, and temperature extremes in controlled environments in the cooler and freezer, and depending on location, working outside in all temperatures.
