CEWD Summer Scholars Instructors POOL

Wor-Wic Community College continuously accepts applications for part-time instructors to teach courses for our Gifted and Talented Summer Scholars Program, which provides a variety of science, technology, engineering, art, music and culinary educational experiences to gifted/talented students in grades three through ten offered in one-week sessions during the summer. Depending on the class and instructor availability, these positions offer full-day or half-day schedules, during the day, one or more weeks in July and include up to three days of paid training in June.Most instructors are working with us to develop a new idea/course and will be compensated for development time. All courses are subject to enrollment minimums.The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.

  • Creates and manages an environment conducive to the student's learning of continuing education and workforce development course material
  • Prepares and uses age-appropriate course syllabi
  • Attends required annual training
  • Meets all scheduled classes
  • Maintains student classroom records and reports absences
  • Assists with continuing education and workforce development registration when appropriate
  • Submits copies of course syllabi, required supply lists, and any other course-related documents to the CEWD Director.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the dean of continuing education and workforce development
This is an applicant POOL. Applications will be reviewed, and positions will be filled based on department needs. This is not necessarily a job posting for a currently vacant position. Applications are always welcome in this category, and will be reviewed as needed. Applications received for this pool will remain active for one year.
