Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)

A growing Radiation Oncology team in the Houston metro area is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) to join a collaborative and patient focused environment.
This individual will play a key role in developing high quality radiation treatment plans for patients undergoing therapy for prostate and other urologic related cancers.

Responsibilities
- Design and generate optimal radiation treatment plans utilizing computer and manual dose calculations while ensuring prescribed dose delivery and sparing of critical structures
- Identify and contour normal and dose limiting structures using CT, MRI, PET, and other imaging modalities
- Perform image registration across multiple imaging datasets including rigid and deformable registration techniques
- Create and transfer reference images and localization markers for portal verification and treatment delivery including DRRs, CBCTs, and IGRT methodologies
- Assist in the planning and implementation of compensation filters, custom shielding, wedges, and beam modifying devices
- Support the production and use of molds, casts, and immobilization devices
- Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, and Medical Physicists to ensure accurate implementation of treatment plans
- Perform and verify dose calculations and maintain accurate documentation within the patient record
- Assist with quality assurance initiatives involving treatment planning systems and radiation oncology equipment
- Support radiation safety, machine calibration, and patient dosimetry processes under the direction of the Medical Physicist
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and ongoing quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy, Physics, or a related field
- Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB)
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics, and radiation safety
- Experience developing advanced treatment plans utilizing multimodality imaging, respiratory gating, CBCT dose tracking, and adaptive treatment techniques
Preferred
- Experience in a urology focused or prostate cancer treatment setting
- Familiarity with Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
- Active membership with the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (AAMD)
