The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland seeks a qualified Athletic Trainer for a full-time, 10-month position beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Reporting to Boys’ Latin Head Athletic Trainer, and in coordination with the Athletic Director, this position will perform and oversee the daily clinical operations and ATC duties required for the Athletic Training Facility to operate as an ambulatory care and rehabilitation clinic.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical care to all student athletes, utilizing accepted NATA and BOC standards for quality care. (This includes direct provision of care, proper documentation, and reporting of care.)
- Coordinate with the Head Athletic Trainer for practice schedule and game coverage during the school year. This includes weekends and holiday dates.
- Collaborate case management with Head Athletic Trainer, Team Physician, and Strength and Conditioning personnel.
- Engage in necessary and regular communication with Athletic Director, coaching staff, school counseling staff, Academic Dean, dorm and student life personnel, and parents/guardians of students, and students’ individual primary medical providers and specialists.
- Perform injury management and rehabilitation of all student related musculoskeletal and sports medicine related injuries. Includes but not limited to injury prevention, concussion management, trauma care and rehabilitation.
- Maintain up to date credentials and certifications as required (CPR/AED).
- Participate in ongoing continuing education as required by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a professional manner focusing on: quality care, team collaboration and respect, open communication, confidentiality laws, patient rights/respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director.
Ideal Candidates will:
- Possess a Bachelors' degree (Masters’ preferred) in related field
- Have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Athletic Training (experience as an intern in a university or secondary school setting can be applied to this standard)
- Be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) of Athletic Trainers
- Be eligible for licensure in Maryland
- Have the ability to provide medical care for athletic injuries
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with the school Administration, School Nurse, Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Directors, coaches, athletes and parents
- Be able to physically complete all aspects of the position
Salary is commensurate with experience, years of teaching, and educational qualifications. The salary range for this position is $40,000-$70,000.
