This isn't a "button-pusher" role. We are looking for a technical expert who understands the mechanics of centerless grinding, from setup to final inspection, and wants to work in a shop that values quality above all else. Centerless grinding is a specialized art form; we are looking for a precision specialist who understands the unique relationship between the Grinding Wheel, the Regulating Wheel, and the Work-Rest Blade. If you have spent your career holding "tenths" on cylindrical parts and understand the physics of Thru-feed and In-feed grinding, we want to talk to you!

Compensation, Schedule, & Location Details

• Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
• (1st Shift) Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Location: Dayton, OH 45426
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in centerless grinding & setups (experience with Cincinnati, Landis, or Royal Master is a major plus)

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Setup: Independently set up and adjust the regulating wheel speed and the angle of the work-rest blade to ensure parts remain "on center."
• Precision Dressing: Dress both the grinding and regulating wheels to maintain geometry and surface finish requirements.
• Geometric Tolerancing: Monitor for "out-of-round" or "trilobing" issues and make immediate mechanical compensations.
• Thru-Feed & In-Feed Mastery: Execute both high-volume thru-feed runs and specialized plunge/in-feed grinds for headed or stepped parts.
• Metrology: Use high-precision micrometers and air gauges to verify tolerances of +/- .0001”.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Technical Skill: Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using precision measuring instruments.
• Math Mindset: Strong mathematical skills for calculating complex dimensions and tolerances.
• Blueprint Fluency: Ability to interpret GD&T symbols specifically related to cylindricality and runout.
• The "Tenths" Standard: A commitment to high-detail quality and the physical stamina to manage a high-speed production flow.
• Bonus Points: Familiarity with CNC programming is a plus, but a mastery of manual setup is our priority.
