Overview

We are seeking aCardiovascular Technologist,also referred toa asaCath Lab Technologist.A CathLab Techwill be aspecialized healthcare professional dedicated toassistingin the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions. Their responsibilities primarily involve performing diagnostic tests, managing equipment, and supporting physicians during procedures. Cardiovascular technologists are essential to cardiac care, ensuringaccuratediagnostics, safe interventions, and high-quality patient support. Theirexpertiseis crucial to the efficient operation of the cardiology department atour hospital.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs) to measure the electrical activity of the heart,monitorthe heart's rhythm, and detect abnormalities such as arrhythmias

• Work with cardiologists toassistin cardiac catheterizations for interventional procedures, to examine the heart andpossibly treatblockages

• Assistwith angioplasty and stenting, minimally invasive procedures designed to open blocked arteries and aid physicians in placing stents to keep these arteries open

• Mayassistin the setup and monitoring of pacemakers and defibrillator implantations, devices that help regulate the heart's rhythm

• Prepare patients for cardiovascular tests and procedures, including positioning, explaining the procedure, and ensuring patient comfort

• During tests and interventional procedures,monitorthe patient’s vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.) and report any issues to the supervising physician

• Assists in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• ARRT-R and license as required by State or Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CCT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
• BLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of hire
• Proficient computer skills

Additional Qualifications That AreaPlus:

• Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab
• Cardiovascular Technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring
