Category Manager

LHH is partnering with a client that is seeking a Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing initiatives across its U.S. supply base. This is a high-impact role within the procurement organization, responsible for driving cost savings, strengthening supplier partnerships across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead domestic sourcing strategies across categories
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier partnerships, ensuring service and cost performance
  • Manage and mentor a team
  • Drive annual cost-savings initiatives through spend analysis and market intelligence
  • Lead RFPs, negotiations, and contract development
  • Monitor market trends and pricing indices to inform purchasing decisions
  • Oversee accurate item setup, costing, and supplier assignments

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement
  • 2+ years of people leadership with direct supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Creative problem-solver with strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of distribution, transportation, and end-to-end supply chain processes
  • Solid understanding of inventory management principles
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and lead effectively in a team environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Salary Range: $100,000-$120,000
