ABOUT US:
Here at Garage Beer, we take light beer seriously and everything else lightly. We proudly embrace our role as the underdog in a category that often forgets beer is supposed to be fun. With a 200% growth in social media followers in just the last year and an expanding network of distribution, we continue to be the fastest growing beer brand in the country! No jargon, no ego, no overthinking it. Just crisp, easy drinking beer made for the garage and everywhere else.
ABOUT YOU:
You show up for the moments that matter, whether that’s collaborating with the team, building something new, or just making the day-to-day better. You’re dependable, self-aware, and easy to work with.
At the end of the day, we’re not looking for perfection. We’re looking for real people who care about doing good work and having a good time. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and neither should you!
Location: Columbus, OH, with a strong preference for local candidates; outstanding applicants outside the area may also be considered.
What We’re Looking For:
As our Category Insights Manager, you’ll turn data into direction, bringing together multiple data sources to shape smart, strategic decisions across the beer category. You’ll partner closely with sales and marketing as a trusted advisor, using market trends, consumer insights, and competitive intelligence to guide planning, pricing, and promotional strategies that drive growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop critical insights and analytics to continue Garage Beer’s momentum in the beer category.
- Provide category, channel, and shopper insights to the Sales and Marketing teams using syndicated and internal data, aligning findings with Garage Beer, distributor, and retailer strategies and business goals.
- Partner with the sales and marketing teams to provide visual stories that are grounded in insights and support our growth ambitions while creating value for our customers across tiers.
- Develop and deliver a dashboard with performance reporting to track, measure, and communicate actionable insights across the organization, utilizing syndicated and retailer data sources.
- Foster team development to create independence in leveraging our data sources.
- Travel in the market periodically to validate that our strategies are working and proactively identify distributor and retail opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in category management within the alcohol industry.
- Experience with data analytics and technical platforms, including syndicated and specific retailer sources.
- Ability to develop visual stories grounded on data in collaboration with the Marketing and Key Accounts teams to advance business goals.
- Ability to build relationships internally and externally and to work cross-functionally to drive results.
- Ability to travel periodically based on business needs.
Bonus Points If You:
- Are a Beer Expert: You have direct experience in the beer or alcohol category and understand the unique pulse of this industry.
- Thrive in the Fast Lane: You have a track record of staying agile in high-speed environments, delivering solid results even when priorities shift on the fly.
- Build Order from Chaos: You are a strategic thinker who can take vague, "gray" requirements and transform them into organized, actionable systems.
- Stay Curious: You naturally promote a culture of learning, always hunting for the next trend and digging for unconventional solutions to tough problems.
What We Offer:
- Impactful Work: Fast-moving environment where you can actually see your ideas come to life instead of getting stuck in layers of meetings.
- Our Culture: A place where we’re building a fast-growing beer brand while making sure work is still fun.
- Competitive Compensation: Base salary range of $110,000 - $150,000 annually with the potential for a performance-based incentive.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Currently, our medical, dental, vision, and short-term disability premiums are paid at 100% by Garage Beer. We also offer other voluntary benefits and an EAP, and are continually evaluating our benefit offerings.
- Flexible Time Off: We offer a flexible PTO policy so you can take the time you need to recharge, in addition to company-observed holidays.
The salary range is our good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Please note that actual offers are determined by a combination of individual experience, specific skill sets, internal equity, and geographic location.
Garage Beer is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for our team members.
