Job Title: Category Manager – Strategic Sourcing (Contract)

Location: Downers Grove, IL (Hybrid)

Duration: 3 Months (Potential Extension)

Pay: $55 - 65/hour (W2)

A large Public Accounting Firm is seeking a Category Manager to support its Global Sourcing, Procurement & Vendor Management team (technology-based strategic sourcing / IT supplier management). This role will lead global sourcing initiatives, drive commercial negotiations, and support supplier enablement within SAP Ariba. The ideal candidate brings strong experience across managed services, professional services, and software procurement in a global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFx processes and supplier selection
• Negotiate commercial terms and partner with legal to finalize contracts
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives
• Drive cost savings through process improvements, benchmarking, and total cost optimization
• Evaluate supplier proposals and develop scoring methodologies
• Manage renewals, true-ups, and new vendor agreements
• Leverage tools such as Ariba, ADO, and Power BI for reporting and analysis
• Develop category strategies and sourcing plans aligned with firm goals

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Technology, or related field
• 8–10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or IT/vendor management
• Strong expertise in services procurement and contract negotiations
• Experience with source-to-pay platforms (SAP Ariba preferred)
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and senior stakeholders
• Experience with global procurement, supplier evaluation, and risk management
