Southwestern is seeking applications for a carpentry and building trades instructor for the Red Oak career academy program. The successful individual will be responsible for the overall supervision of the carpentry and building trades career academy program, which includes teaching a variety of courses and supervising the construction of a residential home. The teaching assignment will involve training students through classroom instruction, hands-on demonstration, and lab experiences. The successful candidate will also possess strong organizational and leadership skills, demonstrate cooperative teamwork ability, and be attentive to detail.
Qualifications include an AAS degree in carpentry or a minimum of 6,000 hours of recent carpentry experience, and relevant industry certification(s). Previous teaching experience desired. This is a 190-day instructional contract beginning August 2026.
