The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
Installs partitions, whiteboards, chalkboards, posters, paintings, plaques, shelving. Performs general office upkeep including redesign, counter tops, frosting windows, etc.
Demos, repairs, and installs wood, metal stud, block, concrete, stucco, drywall, Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP), finishes and prepares for paint.
Performs structural repair and redesign.
Repairs and assembles large office desks, furniture, cabinets, chairs, cubicles, dividers, computer trays and shelves. Loads, transports, and unloads furniture as needed.
Performs locksmith duties by cutting keys, rekeying locks and repairing and installing all door hardware to function properly and safely.
Repairs and installs roofing, including patching and fixing leaks.
Installs, repairs and finishes ceilings, interior drywall, acoustical tile grids and tiles.
Maintains structures and buildings to ensure a safe environment for the public.
Repairs, forms, places, and finishes concrete including mixing up to 80lb bag goods and fills cracks in sidewalk expansion joints.
Performs upkeep and repair of all previously installed signage.
Repairs or makes adjustments to ticket counters, vendor areas, break rooms, offices, and Rental Center.
Repairs and installs ceramic tile, vinyl composition tile (VCT) laminate, carpet tile, and performs structural repairs.
Repairs and installs wood base, vinyl base, tile base, terrazzo base, stucco/foe.
Maintains warehouse storage facility. Transports, loads, and unloads materials to and from locations, as needed.
Constructs and assembles commercial grade storage shelving.
Cleans and organizes carpenter area as needed.
Operates motor vehicles; man-lifts, fork lifts, scissor lifts, as needed.
Prepares purchasing requisitions for all door hardware for maintenance and service.
Designs, fabricates, finishes, and installs custom cabinetry including fabrication of doors, drawers and installation of slides, locks, stops, hinges, handles, glass, and lighting as needed.
Removes, repairs and installs all types of flooring, including plywood and supporting floor joists, vinyl tile, carpet, ceramic tile, rubber mats and cove base.
Replaces and installs broken window glass and bathroom mirrors, including tinting/frosting.
Cleans and maintains all tools in shop and trucks. Performs adjustments and extends the useful life of tools and equipment.
Prepares log sheets, reports, records, and documents work activities.
Tracks equipment usage and provides summary information to management.
Performs preventive facility maintenance and emergency repairs in the facilities, grounds, roofs, and landscape areas.
Performs related work as assigned.
CompetenciesPhysical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Performs medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing and raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment)Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
Involves exposure to electrical shocks, heights.
Exposure to High decibel levels of machinery noise, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), mold, silica particles and fine wood particles.
