Job Title: Shop and Trailer Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining, cleaning, and repairing trailers, shop areas, and related facilities while consistently prioritizing safety. You will work both independently and as part of a service team to perform carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, and general repair tasks, using a variety of hand and power tools in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a highly safety-conscious manner and actively participate in a safety-first culture.
  • Assist and train in servicing and refurbishing trailers to support the service team.
  • Clean trailers thoroughly, including buffing floors, wiping down walls, counters, ceilings, fixtures, doors, and windows.
  • Perform carpentry repairs as needed, including work on floors, walls, roofing, siding, windows, and fixtures.
  • Inspect basic electrical wiring systems and report or perform minor repairs as appropriate.
  • Check, scrape, and seal roofs as needed to maintain trailer and facility integrity.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop, including cleaning work areas, equipment, and tools.
  • Maintain a clean working area inside and outside the facility, including the lawn, parking lot, and building.
  • Perform regular inventory checks, identify material needs, and place or assist with orders.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete daily tasks.
  • Lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds as part of routine work.
  • Attend regular safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Support general repair and maintenance activities involving plumbing, minor electrical, minor HVAC, and welding as needed.
  • Clean and wash exterior surfaces, including walls, siding, roofing, and windows.

Essential Skills

  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to a safety-first mentality.
  • Experience with metal stud framing.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Carpentry knowledge and hands-on carpentry experience.
  • Background in carpentry, plumbing, repair, minor electrical, and minor HVAC work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Basic computer knowledge for simple tasks such as inventory checks or documentation.
  • Ownership of basic hand tools, including hammer, screwdrivers, wrench set, tape measure, and similar tools.
  • Ability to work inside trailers, in the shop, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-hour safety training or similar safety training is preferred.
  • Experience in plumbing repairs and installations is a plus.
  • Experience with minor electrical work and basic wiring is a plus.
  • Experience with minor HVAC work is a plus.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Experience in general labor, cleaning, installation, service, inspection, and repair work is beneficial.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with a service team while also performing tasks independently.

Work Environment

You will work both indoors in a shop setting and outdoors in the yard, as well as inside trailers that may not be air-conditioned. Conditions can be hot or cold depending on the weather, and you will regularly move between inside and outside work areas. Standard hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., structured as two 10-hour segments with a 30-minute lunch, with some flexibility to start earlier, such as 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., depending on operational needs. The role is physically active and involves regular use of hand and power tools, lifting materials, and performing cleaning and repair tasks. The dress code requires steel-toe boots, work pants, and a t-shirt; safety glasses and gloves are provided to support a safe and practical working environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Perris, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
