Job Description

The Carpenter will be responsible for installing doors, frames, and hardware at the UT Football stadium expansion. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of commercial hardware systems, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately install, adjust, and finish commercial doors, frames, and associated hardware per drawings, specifications, and code requirements.
  • Install hollow metal, aluminum, and wood doors and frames.
  • Install and adjust commercial door hardware, including locksets, levers, panic/exit devices, closers, hinges, strikes, coordinators, and automatic operators.
  • Read and interpret door and hardware schedules, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Verify door handing, swing, and hardware compatibility.
  • Ensure installations meet ADA, fire rating, and life safety requirements.
  • Perform layout, shimming, anchoring, plumbing, leveling, and squaring of frames.
  • Troubleshoot door operation issues such as binding, misalignment, and hardware failure.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, inspectors, and other trades.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Identify and report material or design conflicts.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in installing doors, frames, and hardware.
  • DFH carpentry experience.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • OSHA 10 certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must submit to a drug and background screening process before starting work.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
