Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an experienced Cardiology Technician III to join our high-volume outpatient cardiology clinic in Round Rock, TX. This is a full-time, weekday position (no nights or weekends) supporting a collaborative, team-oriented environment that sees approximately 250 patients daily.

This role is ideal for a candidate with strong cardiology and EKG experience, who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting and enjoys mentoring junior team members.

Job Summary

The Cardiology Technician III performs advanced cardiac diagnostic testing including EKGs, stress testing, Holter monitoring, and cardiac event monitoring. This role also provides training and mentorship to junior staff while supporting physicians in delivering high-quality patient care.

Essential Functions
  • Perform and process electrocardiograms (EKGs) with accuracy and efficiency
  • Conduct treadmill stress tests, monitoring patient vitals and cardiac response
  • Recognize and report life-threatening arrhythmias to physicians
  • Perform Holter monitor hookups, event monitors, and TTM setups, including editing and report preparation
  • Conduct Signal Average EKGs and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
  • Perform EECP treatments as needed
  • Review patient charts prior to testing to ensure safety and protocol compliance
  • Educate patients on procedures and provide clear instructions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and upload results into MUSE EKG system
  • Perform data entry, retrieval, backups, and reporting functions
  • Maintain equipment and ensure cleanliness of work areas
  • Participate in cross-departmental collaboration to support cardiac diagnostics
  • Take call as needed for emergency or coverage situations

Required Skills & Experience (Must Have)
  • Ability to read and interpret EKGs
  • Experience with stress testing
  • Experience with cardiac event monitors and Holter monitors
  • Strong clinical judgment and patient safety awareness
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume clinic environment

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Cross-trained as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Prior cardiology clinic experience

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of cardiology or EKG-related experience required
  • Note: Candidates without required experience will not be considered

Certifications & Licensure

  • Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
