Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent performs routine and complex echocardiography, ECG, cardiac exercise and interventional Cardiac Catheterization diagnostic procedures in accordance with departmental protocols, standards and practices under the direction of the Cardiovascular and Diagnostic Imaging Services Director and Cardiovascular Medical Director within the scope of his or her Certification encompassing Woodland Memorial Hospital and Dignity Health Medical Foundation service lines. Demonstrates competency for neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
As our Cardiology Specialist, you will perform various diagnostic procedures to support cardiac care, following established protocols and standards. In doing so, you will provide assistance to a diverse patient population, focusing on delivering precise, safe tests and ensuring consistency in your work.

- This position will perform routine and complex echocardiography, ECG, cardiac exercise and interventional Cardiac Catheterization procedures in accordance with department standards on the orders of the referring physician. Along with high quality patient care incumbent will manage the service consistent with medical, ethical, and legal requirements.
- Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Records appropriate cardiac structure on digital images and cine-loops to determine overall function of the heart with less than 2% omission rate. Proficient and competent with computerized documentation system.
- Organizational Skills: Uses appropriate organization, priority setting and problem solving skills. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership. Disposition of studies by patient status and age of order. Completes study within scheduled shift unless cleared by the supervisor, noting completion on patient's chart 95% to 98% of the time.
- Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff and ancillary personnel in a constructive and positive manner.
- Self-Development: Continues education by attending non-mandatory education offerings specific to area of practice. Maintains awareness of issues related to Cardiac care.
- Patient Safety: Applies safety precautions and principles to patient care, including all applicable National Patient Safety Goals, and adherence to medication management policies and procedures. Maintains proper care of equipment, including cleaning and restocking, so that no more than 1 to 2 outages of supplies are noted per month. Notifies company of any equipment failures immediately to ensure timely repair with notification to supervisor.
Job Requirements- Vocational School Grad two (2) years of college education with courses in physiology, anatomy and echocardiography and one (1) year experience.
- One (1) year clinical internship and experience in echocardiographic and Doppler technology or the ability to exhibit the special skills listed.

- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, within 12 - months or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo, within 12 - months or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echo, within 12 - months or
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen, within 12 - months or
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Breast, within 12 - months or
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Neurosonology, within 12 - months or
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN, within 12 - months or
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Pediatric Sono, within 12 - months or
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, within 12 - months and
- Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
Preferred
- Two (2) years experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
