Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist is responsible for obtaining quality invasive diagnostic data during all studies performed in the cardiac catheterization laboratory on inpatients and outpatients ranging from adult to geriatric age. The Cardiovascular Technologist works closely with the referring and interpreting physicians, other department staff and patients.In addition to the principle duties and responsibilities of a Staff Technologist, the Cardiovascular Technologist has a strong background in a specialized area such as Cath Lab/IR and Angiography.Has responsibility for designated assignments and performs related work as required or requested.

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • Medical Radiographer: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire and
  • Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA, upon hire or
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), upon hire


Preferred:

  • Associates Of Science Graduate of an American Medical Association approved school for Radiologist Technologists.Licensure Passed American Registry of Radiology Technologists (AART) certification exam, upon hire or
  • Other Graduate of Invasive Cardiovascular Technology School Current or within previous 2 years, work in cardiac catheterization service areas., upon hire and
  • Other RCIS (Exceptions made in case by case basis) Angiographic experience with scrubbing. Hemodynamic monitoring experience ECG interpretation., 24 - months
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
