About Urbanite Capital
Urbanite Capital is a real estate investment manager focused on select real estate strategies in the United States. With a global partner and investor base, Urbanite and its affiliates have invested over $1.3 billion into commercial real estate across the United States. Urbanite develops long-term relationships with capital partners and experienced developers to pursue attractive risk-adjusted real estate investment opportunities.
The Role
This is a front-line capital raising seat, not a back-office support role. The Capital Markets Associate will be primarily responsible for sourcing and developing new investor relationships with a focus on Mandarin-speaking high-net-worth individuals domestically, as well as family offices, registered investment advisors, and independent broker-dealers. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who has a track record of independently originating investor relationships and thrives in an environment with autonomy and accountability rather than heavy oversight.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, cultivate, and convert new prospective investors through direct outreach, networking, referrals, and event attendance
- Build and manage a personal pipeline of HNWI prospects, with a particular emphasis on Mandarin-speaking domestic investors
- Develop and maintain secondary relationships with family offices, RIAs, and IBDs
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact on the firm’s track record, current offerings, and investment strategy during initial prospect conversations
- Own and maintain accurate CRM records, ensuring pipeline activity, follow-ups, and investor interactions are tracked in real time
- Travel moderately (10–25%) to attend investor meetings, conferences, and industry events as needed
- Collaborate with the Managing Director of IR on fundraising strategy, market feedback, and pipeline prioritization
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of post-undergraduate experience in a capital raising, fundraising, or sales role — ideally within real estate, private equity, wealth management, or alternatives
- Fully bilingual in English and Mandarin (spoken and written)
- Demonstrated ability to independently source and close investor relationships with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a natural comfort in outbound prospecting and business development
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and disciplined approach to pipeline management
- Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred
- Experience raising capital from HNWIs or the independent wealth channel
- Existing network or relationships within Mandarin-speaking investor communities in the U.S.
- Exposure to real estate private equity fund structures (commingled funds, JVs, single-asset vehicles)
