Great Escape Camp Counselor Job Description Goal : To be a leader of summer activities for school -aged children (pre K -7th grade) , who encourages the Great Escape goals of faith development , peer relationship building, physical activity, and creati vity. Job Requirements: 1. Personable , with a heart for children. 2. Ability to be a leader of c hildren. 3. Currently hold or be willing to attain CPR certification. 4. Have a valid driver’s license with no tickets or at fault accidents/moving violations in the last 6 months. 5. Have completed one year of college by the start of camp or be 18 years or older, with previous experience working with children or youth. Responsibilities: 1. Lead devotions, Bible lessons, and faith building activities, as part of a leadership team. 2. Plan and l ead daily recreational activities, games, sports, crafts , service projects, and outings, as a part of a leadership team. 3. Be a team player, assisting and supporting others on staff. 4. Establish personal relationships with the Great Escape campers , particularly with children needing extra support. 5. Maintain respectful conduct of all Great Escape participants. 6. Be attentive to the safety of all Great Escape participants. 7. Demonstrate faith in action. Great Escape 202 6 Schedule: • Full time summer position. Daytime shifts, M -F. -NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS! • Training Dates (paid): May 2 8 - 29 & June 1 – 4. • Camp Dates: June 8 – August 7. • No Camp: July 1 – 3 & July 20 – 24.
